Now it’s complete, John James Village will be managed by the Leukaemia Foundation.  The Leukaemia Foundation offers free emotional and practical support to people with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood cancers throughout Australia.

In Canberra, the Leukaemia Foundation previously a rented suburban house for patient accommodation while staff worked from a converted garage. So it’s not surprising that everyone was keen to move to John James Village! The spacious new Leukaemia Foundation offices in the Village also allow for an expansion of regional counselling and support services .

The Village itself is made up of  six self-contained units where patients stay while they are treated at nearby Canberra Hospital. Family and carers can also stay in John James Village to provide vital emotional and practical support while their loved ones undergo treatment. Tranquil, landscaped gardens with facilities including a BBQ area and children’s playground are also a feature of the Village.

The Leukaemia Foundation can be contacted at John James Village on 02 2615 7000.
